Fostering Discipline, Leadership, and National Service

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a voluntary organization for students in schools and colleges that fosters discipline, leadership, and a spirit of national service. It builds a strong connection between youth, community, and nature, emphasizing collective responsibility toward the nation.

The NCC Unit of Career College of Nursing, Bhopal, was established in 2003–2004 under the leadership of Capt. Manoj Kumar Selokar. The unit is attached to the 4 MP Battalion and consists of 53 cadets. Enrollment takes place through a selection process conducted in the first week of August every year.

Aim

To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, a secular outlook, and a spirit of adventure among young citizens. To create a trained, organised, and motivated human resource capable of providing leadership in all walks of life and always ready to serve the nation. To provide a supportive environment that inspires youth to pursue careers in the Armed Forces and contribute to national defence and unity.

Motto

“Unity and Discipline” (Ekta aur Anushasan)
The motto of the NCC was officially adopted during the 12th Central Advisory Committee (CAC) Meeting on 12th October 1980. It represents the core values that guide every cadet — teamwork, respect, and self-discipline.

Organisation

The National Cadet Corps is headed by a Director General of the rank of Lieutenant General, supported by senior officers. The Headquarters is located in New Delhi.

  • 17 Directorates across state capitals headed by Major Generals
  • Group Headquarters commanded by Brigadiers
  • Battalions commanded by Colonels or Lieutenant Colonels
  • Companies led by Associate NCC Officers (Lieutenant to Major)
  • 95 Group HQs supervising Army, Naval, and Air Wing units

Training is supported by Officers Training Academy, Kamptee (Nagpur) for men and Women Officers Training Academy, Gwalior for women.

Activities

Community Development & Social Service:

  • Blood donation camps and tree plantation
  • Clean India Campaign and AIDS awareness
  • Save Girl Child rallies and traffic safety programmes
  • Digital awareness campaigns

Military & Leadership Training:

  • Annual training camps at battalion level
  • Adventure camps at regional and national levels
  • Attachment camps with regular Army units
  • Participation in RDC, TSC, IDC, YEP, and NIC camps

Skill & Physical Development:

  • Rifle shooting, obstacle training, map reading
  • Weekly weapon training and parade sessions

Through these activities, NCC cadets of Career College of Nursing, Bhopal develop confidence, discipline, leadership qualities, and a strong sense of national responsibility.
