Eligibility
- The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Council.
- The Minimum education requirements shall be the passing of B.Sc. Nursing/B.Sc. hons. Nursing/ Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
- The candidate should have undergone in B.Sc. Nursing/ B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
- Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
- Minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post B.Sc. Nursing.
Note: Simultaneous attending in other courses is not permitted. It will be applicable to all the above courses.
Objectives
On completion of the 2 year M.Sc. Nursing programme, the graduates will be able to
- Apply the concepts, theories and principles of nursing science.
- Demonstrate competencies in nursing practice.
- Practice as Clinical Nurse Specialist.
- Establish collaborative relationship with the members of other disciplines.
- Assume leadership in various care settings.
- Participate in health planning, implementation and evaluation at different levels of health care system.
- Function as effective nurse educators and nurse managers.
- Conduct independent nursing research and utilize the research findings in nursing practice and education.
- Critically evaluate various educational programmes in nursing.
- Demonstrate interest and positive attitude in continuing education for personal and professional growth.

- Note: Total seats of the specialty, minimum 50% of the candidates opt for sub specialty.

Examination system
University examination will be conducted in the month of September/October by the Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University, Jabalpur and supplementary examination in the month of November/December as per the University schedule.
Eligibility for Examination
Students shall have a minimum of 80% attendance in theory and 100% attendance in practical while appearing for the examination. However, absenteeism has to be made up during the vacation. Internal assessment will be calculated as per the university directions.
Award of Degree and Registration
Successful candidates will be awarded Master of Science (Nursing) degree by Madhya Pradesh Medical Sciences University, Jabalpur. They will be eligible for registration with the Nursing Council of any state in India.
