Introduction

between community and nature and their inter-dependability. NCC is a voluntary organization for schools and college students. NCC trains the Cadets to become responsive individuals, sensitive to the needs of the community. It aims at developing a network of culture characterized by hard work, sincerity of the purpose and the ideals of selfless service with a secular outlook.

The NCC Unit of Career College was started in year 2003-2004. NCC unit is headed by Capt. Manoj Kumar Selokar. The college has an N.C.C. unit consisting of boys' unit attached to 4 MP Battalion with strength of 53 cadets.

Enrollment in N.C.C. is done through selection in the first week of August.

National Cadet Corps aims at developing character and comradeship, as well as keenness for service to the nation and capacity for leadership in the youth. It provides military training to the youth and builds a ready reserve which the Armed Forces could easily make use of in times of national emergency. There are a number of incentives that motivates students to become Cadets, besides giving additional merit points. NCC also motivates Cadets to perform to the best of their abilities by offering scholarships, cash awards, prizes, medals, trophies etc.

Aim

  •   To Develop Character, Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure, and Ideals of Selfless Service amongst the Youth of the Country.
  •   To Create a Human Resource of Organized, Trained and Motivated Youth, To Provide Leadership in all Walks of life and be Always Available for the Service of the Nation.
  • To Provide a Suitable Environment to Motivate the Youth to Take Up a Career in the Armed Forces.

Moto

UNITY AND DISCIPLINE” (EKTA AUR ANUSHASAN)

The need for having motto for the Corps was discussed in the 11th Central Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting held on 11th, Aug. 1978. The final decision for selection of “Unity and Discipline” as motto for the NCC was taken in the 12th CAC meeting held on 12th Oct. 1980.

The NCC is headed by a Director General with the rank of Lieutenant-General. He is assisted by two Additional Director Generals (A and B) of two-star rank (Major-General, Rear-Admiral or Air Vice-Marshal). Five Brigadier level officers and other civil officials also assist him. The Headquarters is located in Delhi.

Organization

The Organizational Structure Continues As Follows:
  •   Directorate – There are 17 Directorates located in the state capitals headed by an Officer of the rank of a Major General from the three Services.
  •   Group – Depending upon the size of the state and growth of NCC in the states, Directorates have up to 14 Group Headquarters under them through which they exercise their command and control of the organization in the state. Each group is headed by an officer of the rank of Brigadier or equivalent known as Group Commander.
  •   Battalion- Each NCC Group Headquarters control 5-7 units (Bns) commanded by Colonel/ Lt.Col or equivalent.
  •   Company – Each Battalion consists of companies which are commanded by the Associate NCC Officer (ANO) of the rank of Lieutenant to Major.
  • In all there are 95 Group Headquarters in the country who exercise control over a network of 667 Army Wing Units (including technical and girls unit), 60 Naval Wing Units and 61 Air Squadrons. There are two training establishments namely Officers Training Academy Kamptee (Nagpur, Maharashtra) for men and Women Officers Training Academy, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

Activity

  • Community Development Training.
  •   Training during Annual Training Camps at Bn. level.
  •   Training during Centrally organized camps at various levels.
  •   Training during adventure activities camps (D G level).
  •   Training during attachment camps with regular Army.
  •   Training during National level camps (RDC, TSC, IDC, YEP, NIC etc).
  •   Training during various competitions (NCC sports, rifle shooting, obstacles, Map reading etc.)
  •   Weapon Training provide during the NCC Weekly Parade.
  • Various Social Activity (Blood Donation Camp, Tree Plantation, Clean India Campaign), Awareness Rely (AIDS Awareness, Save Girl Child, Traffic Awareness, Cash Less).
